It had been a long day at the cafe, and Greg was taking his time getting home. Walking down the street, he took the time to take in the sights a little more than on most days. There was a smaller crowd than usual, so it seemed the perfect time.
Turning a corner, he stopped at an electronics store, the televisions advertised airing the afternoon news. Greg sometimes stopped by this store, as it seemed to be a thing most people in this area did. The poorer had a deeper sense of community than the rich, and Greg admired them for that.
Today, there was a larger crowd than usual. Greg walked up to the crowd to get a peak at the news airing.
"Millionaire Marshall Gordon was found dead in his suite in his company headquarters this morning. Officials have had no comment on the nature of the death, though with no legitimate heir to take Mr. Gordon's place after the disappearance of his son, Blake Gordon, it seems that this empire will be dissolved..."
"It's a real shame... don't you think?" A well-dressed, young man stood beside Greg, watching the screen. He seemed out of place, but comfortable, "work your whole life and make your work your life, just to have it all snatched away like that."
Greg wasn't sure how to reply, and as he looked at the man standing beside him, something told him that the guy wasn't looking for a reply, so a simple "hmmm" was all that came from his mouth. With that, the well-dressed man took his leave, and Greg decided to do the same. He still had a fair way to go to get home, and around his area, being alone on the streets at night wasn't something he was all too inclined to do.
